All metalheads on deck! We’re letting all hell loose on the Baltic Sea.

The heaviest cruise of the late autumn is here again as the Academic Heavy Cruise returns to Helsinki! We welcome on board the M/S Silja Europa all the academic heavy folk of the entire country as well as every friend of more metallic cruises. Let us prove in November that people are still made of iron.

PLACE AND TIME

This year we’ll be sailing the dark seas on board the M/S Silja Europa. The cruise brings warmth to the bleak end of November, its dates being Thu, Nov 21st and Fri, Nov 22nd.

The ship departs from Helsinki’s Länsiterminaali 1 at 18:30 on Thursday evening, sails to Tallinn overnight (arrival at 8:00), and returns to Helsinki at 16:00. A quick four-hour day trip to Tallinn is possible once there.

NOTE! You have to be at the terminals at least an hour (1h) before departure!

PRICES

The price of the cruise is 24€ per person, including a cabin berth (in a four-person C-class cabin) and entrances to both the gigs and Friday’s afterparty. No meals are included in the price, but the organisers strongly recommend ingesting solid nutrition as well.

If you wish to eat proper meals during the cruise, you can reserve the following meals for additional costs:

34€ — Thu, Dinner Buffet
12€ — Fri, Breakfast
26€ — Fri, Lunch Buffet

Additionally, there are a limited amount of parking spots available for the cruise. If you wish to attend by car, you can purchase one for the price of 45€.

GIGS AND ENTERTAINMENT

This year’s heavy cruise is starred by three strong up-and-coming metal acts whose music cannot be found lacking in attitude. Our genre selection is in order, as we get to enjoy dark black metal, fast-paced thrash, and traditional 80s style heavy metal.

*Blackhearted*

From the Capital Region, Blackhearted is a symphonic black metal project found by Sami and Antti in 2007. Already in 2016, the desire to perform on venues took over the guys and the project grew into a full band with Mikko, Tone, Atte and Lauri joining in. Their music is bleak and dark in atmosphere, varying between a merciless blast beat and melancholy doom.

*Pahan Ikoni*

As a thrash pump and pit steamroller from Helsinki, Pahan Ikoni brings a thrash metal party to the seas. Familiar from Tuska, riding an angry wave of misanthropy the young band is here to guarantee the high energy of the evening and the stiffness of your neck muscles the next morning. This is a gig you don’t want to miss, as Pahan Ikoni have promised to play their new material before withdrawing on a longer gig break for the recording of their debut album.

Rugged 80’s heavy metal to the bone!

The after-cruise party will be organised by Metal Club Mökä. The afterparty is set to be held in Helsinki, near the ferry terminal. All additional information to be published later.

A confirmation email for your registration will be sent to you within a few weeks from answering this form. The email will contain detailed payment instructions for the cruise as well as some additional information.

The deadline for the payment is on October 21st.

OTHER

Please make sure that you bring a valid passport and/or a EU-valid identification with you. Getting on board the ship and to Tallinn may be dependent on your identification, in the event of an ID check.

The age limit of the cruise is 18 years.
